1981X gets unusually close to the heart of Naxos. Lavender and citrus give it the right aromatic lift, but Alexandria lets honey and tobacco appear earlier, making the opening feel denser and sweeter than the Xerjoff. Naxos has more breathing room. Its citrus feels brighter, the lavender more finely drawn, and the transition into honeyed tobacco has a softness that 1981X cannot quite reproduce. Alexandria compensates with weight: cinnamon, cashmeran and vanilla make the middle feel thick, warm and almost syrupy. The drydown is where the resemblance becomes difficult to dismiss. Tobacco, tonka and vanilla settle into essentially the same warm aromatic silhouette, and community comparisons repeatedly place 1981X among the closest Naxos alternatives. It lasts extremely well too. The original remains smoother and more dimensional, but 1981X is less an approximation than a slightly heavier interpretation of the same idea.
