A secure session cookie keeps you signed in, and a CSRF cookie helps verify that account actions came from your browser. These are necessary for authentication and security, and they cannot be switched off from our interface.
Local storage
We use local storage for a few interface preferences, such as remembering whether a signed-in account has seen the welcome message and which answer you gave to the analytics question below. Local storage does not travel with every network request.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which fragrance pages people find useful and where the site is confusing. Analytics runs only after you allow it: until then, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics storage denied and no analytics cookie is written. Your IP address is anonymised, and we never send your email address, display name, or account id to Google.
Declining changes nothing about your account, your contributions, or what you can read. You can change your answer at any time:
Search engine verification
Google Search Console and Yandex Webmaster confirm that we own this domain through a meta tag in the page source. Verification tags set no cookies and collect nothing from your browser.
Managing storage
You can remove existing cookies and local storage through your browser settings, although doing so may sign you out and reset your preferences. If we ever add advertising technologies, we will update this policy and ask separately.
