Al Dirgham Special Edition gets surprisingly close to Althaïr without copying its texture perfectly. Cinnamon and nutmeg give the opening a drier, rougher spice, while cardamom quickly pulls the fragrance toward that familiar warm vanilla profile. The first minutes are where the cheaper construction is easiest to notice. The drydown is another story. Vanilla becomes creamy and full, the spice softens, and from normal wearing distance the Althaïr resemblance can be excellent. Pistachio adds a faint nutty twist that the original does not emphasize, giving Al Dirgham a slightly more playful gourmand character. Community side-by-sides are unusually enthusiastic, with several owners finding the heart and scent trail extremely difficult to distinguish from Althaïr. Performance also receives strong feedback for something this inexpensive. The original is smoother and more carefully finished, but the difference in quality is nowhere near the difference in price.
