Art of Nature II takes the Althaïr idea seriously, but the opening is not a carbon copy. Apple and mandarin give it a brighter, juicier entrance, while olibanum adds a faint resinous dryness behind the citrus. Althaïr feels more restrained here, with its vanilla already waiting quietly underneath.
The resemblance tightens considerably through the heart. Cardamom and orange blossom melt into a creamy vanilla base, and suddenly the familiar warm, polished character is unmistakable. Art of Nature II keeps a little more fruit and sweetness around the edges, while Althaïr has finer spice work and a smoother transition into the woods.
The drydown is excellent. Vanilla, ambroxan and guaiac wood create a dense, comfortable warmth that gets very close to Althaïr in the air, and community comparisons regularly rank this among the stronger interpretations of that DNA. Liquid Brun may be the more literal clone for some noses; Art of Nature II feels slightly fruitier and creamier, which gives it enough personality to avoid smelling like a lazy photocopy.
