Imaginary gets remarkably close, but not by copying every stage perfectly. Its opening puts more weight on citron and bergamot, giving the first few minutes a thicker, sharper citrus character. Imagination feels airier here, with the ginger and neroli woven into the brightness more gracefully. Give Imaginary time. Once the black tea, ambroxan and guaiac wood appear, the difference becomes much harder to spot from normal wearing distance. The tea can be quieter than in Louis Vuitton, and the composition feels slightly more linear, but the clean citrus-tea signature is reproduced with unusual accuracy. Direct comparisons from owners of both fragrances repeatedly land around the same conclusion: the opening gives Imaginary away, the drydown often does not. It also has a strong reputation for value and respectable performance. At fifty dollars for 50 ml, this is one of the few Imagination clones where the compromise feels more like refinement than a fundamentally different smell.
